Special Features

Resource Center  at the Sugar Shack

The resource center houses several program kits featuring Geology and Health & Fitness which contain multiple lesson plans and all of the required supplies.  Activities vary by age level, time constraints, materials needed, and the skills taught. Visit the Resource Center webpage to view lists of the topics offered and sample kits.

Low Ropes Challenge Course

The challenge course offers fun, excitement and adventure within an educational experience. The course is a series of mental and physical challenges, including rope, cable and wooden obstacles. Each challenge helps groups to explore and develop teamwork, communication styles, leadership skills and problem-solving strategies. The Low Ropes course is off limits unless your group is specifically registered to use the course and a trained facilitator is present.

Blue Bird Trail

This trail loops out behind Pine Tree Lodge.  Trail includes a bird viewing blind.  Guides are available at camp in the Sugar Shack resource center.

Orienteering

A professionally designed orienteering course is located in the lower section of camp.  Maps and compasses may be checked out through the Girl Scout Center.  Additional maps are available at camp.

Creeking

This is probably one of the most popular things to do while at Stonybrook.  The creek is great for fossil hunting, and offers a wide variety of experiences...you will get wet and muddy!
Please Note:  If water is deeper than knee-high - a lifeguard is required.
